The hotel is the only Holiday Inn in the world to win the Torchbearer Award 13 times, and is the first recipient of the Kemmons Wilson Spirit of Family Award.

The Holiday Inn – Boardman has set the bar for all other properties in the hotel chain, winning the coveted Torchbearer Award a record 13 times. The hotel was also the recipient of the first Kemmons Wilson Spirit of Family Award at the 2004 InterContinental Hotels Group Americas Investors & Leadership Conference held in Chicago, IL, October 20 – 22, 2004.

The Torchbearer Award is presented to hotels in the InterContinental Hotel Group system that maintain the highest standards of excellence in various categories, and the Kemmons Wilson Spirit of Family Award is given to only one of the ten Torchbearer winners that best exemplifies Holiday Inn’s core Brand values.
